About Us

For more than thirty years Chiropractic & Wellness Center, the office of Dr. Mary Jo Johnson, has been assisting people to realize a greater experience of healing, health, and well-being through a wholistic treatment model – Activator chiropractic, functional medicine, physical therapies, therapeutic massage, state of the art approaches to nutrition, low level laser therapy and more.

We’ve now added medical professionals to our staff who are knowledgeable in regenerative medicine. Regenerative medicine helps patients live without pain without relying on pain medication. Regenerative medicine also helps retain joint mobility and function without the risks and limitations of surgery.

Indianapolis Pain & Wellness Center is more than a name change… it is a transition to an acknowledgement that, according to the US Centers for Disease Control, more than 50 million Americans experience chronic pain, and for 17 million the chronic pain seriously impacts their life.

Chiropractic has long been acknowledged as the most successful treatment for acute and chronic low back pain but it is not as widely acknowledged how wholistic chiropractic care successfully treats neck and upper back pain, headaches, joint and muscular pain, and more.

Indianapolis Pain and Wellness Center is now positioned to do even more to help people address acute and chronic pain using non-surgical, non-narcotic and regenerative medicine treatments to help patients return to pain-free, healthy function.

Meet the Team

Our Doctors & Staffs

Dr. Mary Jo Johnson, DC

It wasn’t until Dr. Johnson resolved a health issue of her own with chiropractic care that she changed her major from journalism to pre-med and began the journey of chiropractic studies. She graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1985. Dr. Johnson has been practicing in Indianapolis since 1993. Dr. Johnson enjoys providing whole-person health care to people of all ages, the very young to the elderly. She observes that structural, nutritional, and emotional stress causes a person to become ‘sick’ or in pain. She views it her challenge to diagnose which of the sources of stress are causing a person to be ‘out of balance’ and provide appropriate care, information, and instruction in order to assist the individual to return to a state of balanced well-being. In addition to being advanced certified in Activator Technique, Dr. Johnson is certified as a Digestive Health Specialist.

Dr. Antonio Carrelli
